Helping Hand is a small grants scheme set-up by North Cotswolds Rotary to help support the amazing work carried out by small charities and community organisations across the North Cotswolds.

Applicants were required to complete an application form.   A short-list of applicants were then asked to give a 10-minute presentation to a panel of two North Cotswolds Rotary members before the final awards were made.

This year we awarded seven grants of up to £500, as follows:

  • Hampen Community – contribution towards the purchase of a defibrillator

  • Friends of Bourton School – purchase of books for school library

  • Victoria Hall – purchase of a safety hand rail

  • Coffee, Cake and Chat – purchase of two draft excluders to allow more of the church to be used

  • Clapton Parish Meeting - contribution towards the renovation of their phone box and installation of a defibrillator

  • Headspace – support for additional counselling sessions for young adults

  • CALM – contribution to training and physiotherapy sessions for children with disabilities

In addition, and separate to the Helping Hand grant programme, we donated £500 to Cotswold Friends towards their emergency hardship fund for people in The Cotswolds who are being hit hard by the increased living costs.

We would like to thank Hacklings for their support providing a meeting room for the interviews.

We hope to run Helping Hand again in January next year.
